Thanks a lot. When I get the parts I'm sure I'll have more questions. It will probably be in a month or so, I have to move in a couple weeks. I'll actually have a real garage to work in. No more apartment...YEAH!

Where do you think the best place to get those carbon rings would be? I found some online for about $30 a piece. Is that good? Another question. What are the best batteries to get for the doo's? I still have the two small ones. I went through four batteries last year. I have since bought a battery tender trickle charger. So, hopefully, I won't have the same problem this year. Just wondering what you used. I would also like to get a battery just for my stereo. Is there any way to have the engine charge it but now draw power from it?
thanks

No, it's the other engine, the one that didn't have the bad gasket. I'll get new plugs and see what happens. It may take a while because I am moving on Wednesday...lots o' fun. I just put some carb cleaner in and started it and a lot of black stuff came out the "bad" engine. The other one was fine, just didn't want to idle. Is it possible that I got some water in the carbs since there was a substantial amount of water in the hull (over the carbon/ss rings). Neither engine wants to idle even out of the water. They used to idle fine out of the water. I just don't know what the problem is.Check/replace the plugs and see what happens. Let me get this straight.... The engine that had the bad gasket is the one not running properly now?

I know it sounds strange but yes smoke was actually coming in the bilge pump. It was making "smoke bubbles" in the water that leaked in the bilge pump. I think the "one-way" valve is shot...maybe. As far as not revving past 3000 rpm's, that was in forward, nuetral and reverse. Only one engine won't rev past 3000. It doesn't sound like it is being limited to 3000, it sounds like it is bogged down like too much fuel/oil. It does this in and out of the water. Just wonding if you ever heard of anything like this.

Trying to slide that hose forward is a lot easier said than done. I did get it though. It helped some, but it still cavitates. Is the boat supposed to be able to get on plane with just one engine. Mine won't. I cavitates too much. Is there anything else that could make it cavitate other than the carbon ring and wear rings? I can't figure it out. Thanks a lot.No problem, man! Remember, if you can't get the carbon rings to seal to your satisfaction, you CAN retrofit to the '95 setup. Good luck!
