some noise at idle speed is pretty normal ...upon disassembly , make sure the rubber plug bumpers are on both sides of the drive shaft

Thanks, I've found that the slight movement of the shaft is normal and the bearings are in good shape. As you say, the noise is normal.

First of all, welcome to the forum. I really hope someone can help you. Honestly, I had to look it up. Found a couple of YouTube video's on it, and it looks pretty cool. Do you use it as a tender or just fun?

I was waiting to reply to your question in hopes I'd get answers to my question first but here goes anyway. I will be using it in my business as a Sea Tow operator to run fuel deliveries, jumpstarts and take a tow line through the surf to retrieved beached vessels. And I suspect I'll have some fun on it in the process!
