Greetings all, after some thought I had a question that I thought might be of interest to many of us and may have already been adressed in the past. Where is the support? Unless its staring me right in the face and I just do not see it I can not find any outlet for details or specifications of thier products. Just a weak owners manual and some marketing brochures. It seems to me that we have been left to harass people in forums or trust that the dealers have not forgotten to tell us this or that. SeaDoo has apparently left information to be passed along selectively & second hand through the dealers – who may or may not have the answers to the questions asked – if they have the time to share it in the first place.
Where are the shop manuals? Service intervals and recommendations or at least the phone numbers to call when you have a question. Seems to me I can get endless support on $80 Computer Router/ Switch but have to trust that my dealer is not trying to keep his repair bays busy and passing along everyting I need to know after writing a $27,000.00 cheque. Does anybody know where the people and manuals are hiding, or was that optional?

Learning Key

Hey all,
Been having a increadible time with the SCIC. My X is 10 times more hatefull than ever before. 1 hour of break-in left. My only complaint about this H2O missle is that I can't be in it all day long. I have noticed the revs are a little unsteady in the lower range (under 4000 mostly). I am using the best fuel I can get. Seem normal?
I have also taken the step to protect my joy ride with the purchase of a Learning Key to keep the kids tame when break in is over. All I have been able to find out is that the Learning Key is simply a electronic rev limiter, however I have also seen posts that indicate that the key also retards ignition and allows a higher fuel rate just as in the break in. My concern is adverse affects on the engine with frequent or prolonged use. Can anyone advise? My dealer says it wont hurt a thing - but they seem very nah that won't hurt a thing about a lot of things - it wont come out of thier pockets after all.

Dead RPMs but a thrill to drive -

Hi all. Just spent a glorious first weekend with the new SCIC. An absolute blast. Out of the hole, plane and speed was everything I read and heard it would be. Winds were up on Saturday to the point that I found myself fighting it but the hull cut through the waves - surprisingly smooth. I almost wanted it to pound me harder. My crew said they were scared s*%*>_%s at times so maybe its just me. Sunday was perfect for pulling tubes, kneeboards and wakeboards. Its been awhile but I remember struggling to get on plane and pull the skier out. Those days are gone. In the time it takes the engine to hit 4k with 2 people aboard you are on plane and sking. A definate thrill ride for those of us with a couple of kids and cannot afford to maintain 4 PWCs. Its awfull hard keeping it under 6500 and easing the throttle up and down (4 more hours to go). I think I am buning around 12 litres or $12 of fuel an hour. One thing I thought was wierd was that slowly coming down from a 6500 rpm blast - between 4500 and around 3000 seems to be a "Dead Zone". No thrust to maintain any speed or plane. No different between 2 people aboard or 4. As I am easing back the throttle and the water begings to catch up, when it hits 4500 the thrust seems gone and the boat is almost coming to a stop. Is this the "Cavitation" that I am hearing about or is this normal with backing off? Oh, and I was pulling the tube with the ski pylon - and I was worried if the load would snap the thing off - does everyone else use the pylon to pull tubes with 1 person - 2 people?
Whats these blocks on my boat for?

Proud new father of a 2005 Sportster SCIC. Its going in the lake this evening. I had a couple of crazy questions though. Does anyone have a recommendation on how to go about installing an hourmeter? Though it is comforting that the dealer can read the hours from the onboard electronics, I am having a hard time remembering if they said they would be out every night to help me keep track.
Another thing, what are those 3 crazy black blocks on the swim platform / transom? Bumpers for the fold down wake board tower or what?
