Hi Reddog -- resurrecting and old thread here, but did you ever get an answer on the difference between the two "editions" of the 2006 model?
The Seadoo parts site lists two "editions" of both variations of the 2006 Sportster. That is, there's are separate listings for an edition 1 SCIC and and edition 2 SCIC. I had to buy some parts for mine last summer, 2010, and do not recall this distinction being made on Seadoo's site or anywhere else. On a cursory look at the parts site I don't see any differences between the two.

Has anyone put a charging system in this boat?If so I would like to see pics..My battery is dead about the third time I take it out and I always have to take the time to take it completely out and charge the battery and replace with a second battery off my other boat.If theres a easier way please someone tell me it would be greatly appreciated..Thanks

Mike, are you saying your battery only lasts three outings between charges? If so, and you're not running the stereo all day without the motor running, then seems like either your battery's reached the end of its life or your rectifier/regulator is beat. If the battery is original to the boat then I'd replace it. You might also hunt for any drains on your system when powered down: for instance the bilge pump will run even with the main power switch in the "off" position. In any case it's not normal for the battery to die between outings.

Thanks Kevin. Solas confirms that the SRX-CD-14/19 is the spec impeller for my boat.
