In Topic: Looking at 99' Speedster SK

Also take a look at the tunned pipe at the top of the motors they have round plugs that where welded on, the plugs are very thin they will corrode overtime and leak. I have the 98 thats the same as the 99. I traded my 99 honda cbr900rr with 45k miles worth about 2k for the boat and trailer in running condition took it for a run before trading. I rebuilt one set of carbs, changed both drive seals to the old style carrier and seal vs the carbon ring. Last season the accelerator pump was stuck, easy fix. I had to change the brushes in one of the starters. The prior owner had new impellers put in I just changed the wear rings.

I have the 98 Speedster and stripped the drive shaft and pto on one while cruising the bay. I think something got sucked up and jammed it for a second. It was a slow ride back to the dock, but did not need sea tow.

My throttles are not that touchy, I also dont trust one of my gauges. I have been on twin boats for a long time and can hear them hum together, its a long drawn-out hum when in sync. The manual said 35mph is cruise. But I run 40-45, usually its a short rides to the beaches.

My 98 hooks up on the pump via quick connect hose attachment from seadoo, the green hose in the picture.
