You possibly could need a new start swtich, but I would still try the solenoid first, probably a lot cheaper than a new start/stop switch.

If it does not crank when pushing the button but does crank when you 'short' the solenoid, then most likely you need to replace the solenoid. I know when mine failed I would also hear a click when I pushed the Start button but nothing else until I replace the solenoid. They are not that much to purchase, so it would probably be the cheapest place to start.

Below is the response I received from SeaDoo directly. I also did reply and confirm that this change would apply to my 2011 Model Year Speedster and he said 'Yes'.

In response to your request, your Sea-Doo dealership is right the maintenance is now required at
25 hours on those boats. The information was updated in the 2012 owner guide.

I actually emailed Sea-Doo directly, figured it would be best to get it in writing from them directly just to be safe if that is the case. Have not heard back yet, but will post up whatever response I receive.
