That is what I would say.
So, you have been working 3 hours? How long should I plan on taking for installation?

Excellent question! Some install times would be helpful

what do you guys think; the above pic is how it is now; with only the middle piece on the blue engine compartment; The kit has 3 total pieces for the engine compartment but i feel that they take away from the color of the boat and it is just too much gray. here is what it would look like if I applied all 3 sections
So what do you guys think stay with the middle only; or go with all 3?

well got it all in; if I worked with-out a break or rain interruption i would say install time would be 1.5-2 hours; I am very happy with the final look the mats is "grey" in "Cut Diamond"

It looks crooked!
As for the rear hatch, I say go with middle only. My SK only has 1 piece in the back through the middle. This is where most people will walk across any how.

I agree, I would just stick with the "one" in the middle.

Looks excellent, great job on the install!

I agree as well. And...the vote in my office is to keep just the one. You can always put the others on later if needed but it'd be a pain to take them off.
Looks awesome. Thanks for taking the time to take and post the photos. I didn't want to post after them and sully up your instructional thread.

Myself, I'll have to add all 3, my cover is soooo faded that the turf is gonna be my "new paint job"!
Anyone have any ideas if the black mat fades at all over time? I saw a Yamaha boat that had it factory installed and it looked a little gray/faded, not sure how old it was but I definitely don't want that kind of thing occuring for the investment I'm making.

thanks everyone, yeah I am going to stick with the 1; plus now i have extra hydroturf if i want to add any in any other places; (maybe some on the trailer or something)

I have black on my GTX and have had it one for 2; hot Georgia summers and no fading yet; depending on the water you ride in the white "Hydro-Turf" may become stained; on my GTX the white has turned a slight orange color due to the Georgia Clay that is in the water; and i expect the same to happen to my Challenger; but it's no big deal and not much you can do about it

We had black in our previous boat, http://seadoosportbo...droturf-t6.html, it was down for 5 years when we traded it in. I would say as long you take care of it then you should be fine; i.e. don't let it sit outside for long periods of time uncovered.Anyone have any ideas if the black mat fades at all over time? I am debating whether or not I should look for some sort of laminate roller to get things down good, or if everybody gets decent results working the air out by hand.

When you laid down the turf, did you use some sort or roller to work out the air and get everything adhered nicely?

well the instructions that come with the hydro-turf actually do say you might want to use a roller but of all the pieces that i layed down i only had an air bubble in 1. when i put them down i put them down with pressure and then stood on them to apply as much pressure as i could; as for the 1 with the bubble i just took a pin and poked a small hole in the bubble to let the air out and then applyed pressre to help the glue stick; i can not even find the pin hole now

Well, two weeks have gone by, and no turf. No email, no shipping confirmation, nothing. I can't even call them to find out what the status is, since apparently they are closed on Fridays.
hmmmm......I just searched back through my e-mail and could not find any shipping info from hydro-turf but IIRC they told me shipping can take longer if they actually have to cut the kit and if they don't have it in stock; with the pattern that you chose i bet that they actually have to cut it and that is the delay but yeah sucks they are closed on friday's I know you are excited to get the kit!

I went with the dark gray in molded diamond for my 03 Sportster. I'm hoping it's here before Memorial Day!

I understand that the pieces may have needed to be cut, they were out of yellow camo, etc. But nowadays a quick email stating the order will be delayed would be nice.
I mean so far, I had to oder my initial samples twice, they didn't send them the first time. Then my third sample (new yellow camo) came postage due, and now 2 weeks without a peep on my order. But they did charge my card right away.
I guess I am really "earning" my discount!
Well, I guess it was 2 weeks exactly. The box was sitting on the porch when i came home. Just no shipping notice. I have it out now trying to flatten. I will update the other thread soon.
