What is a sub-move?
Who does them?
Why do them?
Do yall worry about the bilge pump keeping up with the water? Can it keep up?
Aren't yall risking taking in a huge amount of water INTO the interior of the boat?
How can I verify that my bilge pump is working? I'v only seen it squirt water one time since I'v owned the boat.
It would appear that these owners are almost trying to dive their boats under water. Can this be true?
I have been perfectly happy jumping my boat 3-4 feet out of the water - catching air. I have certainly never considered trying to dive it underwater.
I got extremely nervous while boating 12 miles offshore in the Gulf of Mexico and a wave came across the bow. I made sure it didn't happen again and paid much better attention to riding the waves rather than going thru them.
Can someone explain this to me?

Completing 1st year with new boat

Bought new {leftover} 2004 Sportster LE di in March 2005 and am now just completing my first year with this boat. It is a mechanical marvel and a wonder to behold. My boat insurance is running me about $50/month thru State Farm.
All my previous boats have been propeller driven. There is little comparison; the jet out performs the prop everytime with the exception of the initial "bite" when the boat takes off. This is not the biggest boat I have ever owned but it is the fastest. I'm a speed addict. I look forward to paying this one off and buying the Speedster 200 with 430 hp just to see what IT will doo.
The dealer experience is what this product is lacking. Further the manufacturer needs to work on consistency & blemishes. I suspect Hurricane Katrina destroyed my dealer in Mississippi.
I made approx 40 trips this year varying in size and length. The boat never failed me one time.
This boat is used primarily for offshore island exploration, tubing & water skiing & is run in salt water, fresh water, lakes, rivers and bayous, etc.
This boat is flushed, washed and garaged after each use irregardless of the type of water run in. It preserves the finish. My boat still looks brand new. Other boaters still gawk at it both at launch and while running. In Alabama we boat year round - there will be no winterization.
There have been no mechanical problems. I got one load of bad gas and took it to the dealer to have the tank drained, plugs changed and refilled with fresh gas with fuel treatment. Have noticed no further residual problems.
The handling and performance of the boat must be learned; however once learned a new owner will gain confidence & realize this boat cuts and handles like a razor blade. It will not turn over {believe me I tried} due to the width and the shape of the hull which is very unique.
I would recommend the SeaDoo jet boat to anyone. The Sportster is a good place to start. The only thing that can outrun me are JetSkis. I look forward to buying a bigger jet boat with 2 engines and a lot more power.
