Oil in my coolant '05 SCIC
09 July 2007 - 01:31 PM
I just came back yesterday from a weekend on a friend's lake. On my post inspection of my engine I noticed I couldn't see the normal green coolant level in the expansion tank. On further inspection I noticed oil sludge in the area of the coolant tank overflow tube. I slowly opened the coolant tank and found oil in the coolant. I checked the oil and the level was pretty low but there was no moisture in the oil. I haven't contacted the dealer yet because they are closed on Mondays. It is under an extended warranty that I purchased for those just in case situations. The boat was running great, no lights indicating that anything was wrong. Has anyone else experienced this problem before? I've had the boat at the dealer once before for high coolant level but they just sucked some out and told me there was nothing wrong with it. I guess they were wrong. Any comments would be appreciated. The boat is a '05 Sportster SCIC with about 40 hours on it.
