Sea-Doos naming convention got me confused
15 June 2011 - 09:40 AM
I'm looking at used Sea-doo boats and it seems that over the years, that the names mean totally different configurations. Does, for instance, 'Challenger' relate to twin engines? I know it is not size...Challenger models have ranged from 15' to 23'. What makes a Challenger different from a Speedster/Sporster/Utopia over the model years? Or do they just swap names to confuse us newbies???
Hello! Newbie seeks advice in buying a used Challenger/Speedster
11 June 2011 - 08:08 PM
Hi all,
I'm new to the forum. I sold my old i/o boat a few weeks ago and have been looking for a good Sea Doo boat. I'm on a budget, but, what are good things to look for in buying one of these jet boats used?
This looks to be a great forum as I've already found lots of good data.
Thanks!

Weight capacity on Speedster 150
11 June 2011 - 10:12 AM
Hi, I'm a newbie here, but ....
I'm looking at getting a used Speedster. Sea-doo places the weight capacity at 650lbs. All four members of my family calculate to be just 10 pounds under that.
What should I expect handling wise by fully loading the boat down? Should I just keep looking for a Challenger 180???
Thanks in advance!
