i am not a mechanic by any stretch of the imagination - but what about the feul filter - or fuel seperator - is the fuel contaminated?

While at the dealer last weekend, they researched that issue and bypassed our gas tank. Didn't seem to be the problem.

Has anyone had a problem with the factory installed mirror? When we bought the boat, there was no mirror. There wewre solder marks on the tower where the mirror shuold have been, and a very sharp edge right there also. (Also it turned out the tower was bent - it looked like it had been damaged by a low-bridge situation.) The dealer made good on it all for us by replacing the tower. The new tower had the mirror attached.
After I took the boat back for them to fix our starting problem (see other long post about THAT one), the boat was missing the mirror. We went around and around with them on this one. How did they know that we brought the boat in with a mirror? They were willing to make good on the missing mirror. They said that the mirror was not replaceable without purcchasing an entire new tower! They gave us about $40 off of the service we had done - the whole thing still chaps my hide, but I'm tired of yelling at them. We ended up getting a new mirror and our dad engineered an awesome bracket so we wouldn;t need to pay $350 or more for the brackets in the catalogs.
Anyway, my question is: has anyone else had a problem with the mirror disapearing? Either someone ripped it off (literally) while at the dealer (bracket and all), or it fell off on the road somewhere. My guess is that it was torn off by a person (I'm not saying associated to the dealer - just someone who saw the boat in their unsecure lot at some point) - if it fell off while on the freeway, it probably would have landed in the boat.

We were taking the boat back to the dealer for the third time - see posts on "engine quit on us" - and the mirror just fell off while we were driving down the highway. Luckily, it fell into the boat and we were able to get the dealer to reattach it.

By the way, we are taking the boat back for the 4th time for the same problem. They determined on the 3rd trip that the engine problem was the low-pressure fuel pump overheating. They replaced the pump. On our 3rd trip out with the new pump, the boat died again. This time we were able to cool the pump off with a damp towel and the engine started again. Back to the dealer a 4th time.... They state that they have never had a Sea Doo with this kind of problem before. I've reached the conclusion that we got the lemon of the bunch!!

We traded in a 2004 Islandia that ran perfectly for a 2004 Challenger X because of gas usage and the fact that the Islandia was very difficult to load onto the trailer. It was really just more boat than we needed.

We started off loving the Challenger X, but on day 2 of usage, we had a problem similar to yours. We were going across a small bay on Brownwood lake and the boat just died. It was as though it was starved for gas. When we tried to start it again, it tries to turn over, but acts like it is out of gas. It will not start. However, after being towed in and letting the boat sit for 1-2 hours, it starts just fine.

We took it back to the dealership where we were told the pins in the wiring harness had come loose and everything else on the computer checked out ok.

Took it back to Brownwood lake the following weekend where the enitre scenario replayed itself, except no one would give us a tow. We swam the boat for about 1 1/2 hours until it would start again.

Back to the dealer - this time they replaced spark plug wires and were sure that they had it fixed.

Yesterday, it died on us again. We probably burned up the starter in frustration, but the boat would not start and stay running at all this time. Called the dealership again this morning...

Are you still having problems? If not, what was done to correct your problem? What dealer do you use?
