Is there a difference between boat wax and car wax? Specificly Turtle Wax

2008 Challenger 180 code P1656 (shorting to ground)

I have purchased a 2008 Sea Doo Challenger 180 with low hours. I have been on the water several times and have run into an issue. It is throwing a P1656 code (check engine) and will not start. I have sat in the middle of the lake for an hour with the DESS "key" out and battery shut off. It does reset but the next time I took it out it did the same thing. What are the possible cause or fixes. Please help.
