I am a new owner of a 2007 Challenger and took it out for the first time this season. About 15 minutes into driving around the boat instantly died and wouldn't start. Come to find out the fuel pump fuse got blown, which keeps the boat from starting. I replaced it and then the next time I took it out, I went the entire day wakeboarding with now issues. However, the next time I took it out it blew the fuse again after five minutes... I trailered it and then ran it on the trailer the next weekend and couldn't get it to blow the fuse after running it for a while. I also found some yell0w wires going to the voltage regulator that are overheating and even beginning to turn the casing brown. (The wires become too hot to touch)
Any idea what could be causing the fuse to blow? I have been reluctant to replace the fuel pump if that's not what it is, because I don't want to wast $500 for nothing. I'm thinking it probably is the fuel pump though...
Any help would be much appreciated!
