Hey guys im new to the jetboat world. I have a challenger 1800. I went to take the boat out the other day and it starts right up when I put it in the water, I can drive it as long as I want with no hesitation at all in either engine. But if I want to stop at the local sand bar, the one engine wont start back up. So the other day I did some experimenting, I took it for a ride and brought it back to the launch and shut it off, once again the one engine wouldnt start back up, so I pulled it out of the water and started right up. I put it back in the water and started it up no probelm, I then shut it off and it would not restart. I retried this with the same results. Im stumped, I think i can hear water leaking into the exhaust or engine somewhere, which is what im thinking is the probelm. Is there a baffle that could be broke in the exhaust? Sorry for the long first post but I need help!

JOSH!
I have a 98 1800 as well and also am new to the jet boat world. I have had my boat out about 3-4 times and from the begining have the same issue. What I also see is that one motor tends to be affected much worse and actually stalls or starves at about 3000rpm. If I pop the choke at that point I can sometimes get it up to full speed. I have not tried the taking it in and out of the water but it has gotten so bad that I can't even start the one motor. I would REALLY REALLY be interested to know what you find out. I took it into the shop and of course they found nothing because they didnt start it and then let it sit for an hour and start it again... Please keep me posted!
