How much resistance should the impeller have when you hold the pump in your hands? I just replaced a wear ring and am debating if I should do the bearings as well.
Just joined up and I'd like to say, this is a pretty good lil' forum you've got going. Now on to my question. I acquired a 1996 Sea DOO Challenger last spring and drove it most the summer, she's an oldie but a goodie. I am still in touch with the original owner and he says the top end rpm has dropped since new. I would assume this to normal with an older boat, but at what point should I be looking to do something about it? If I recall, I was getting about 5500 to 6000rpm at wide open throttle. And would any of you assume that lower rpm at open throttle would constitute a new "top end" rebuild to vanquish this problem? I don't have a service manual yet, as I can't find a .pdf one online to download....
