Looking for some help or insight before I drag this thing into the dealer. I have a new with 10 hrs on it 2005 Speedster 200 with the 370 HP motors. this was our second trip to the lake with our new boat and the first of three days we were going to spend on the lake.
We spend the day running up river and back about 80 miles round trip. When we got back to the lake we were pulling kids on the tube. I shut the boat off and removed the lanyard. When I put the lanyard back on, no beeps. I checked to make sure it was in neutral, checked the throttles to make sure they were pulled back, re tried the lanyard several times and still no beeps. Not even any beeps telling me what could be wrong. Basically there was no connection at all. All the manual states is if there are no beeps you have a dead or missing battery. This is definately not the problem as all the 12 volt accessories worked strong and with no problem. I checked all the fuses, climed under the boat and checked for any thing clogging the jets. Checked as many electrical connections I could get to and still nothing. In a last ditch effort as it was getting dark and had 4 children under 5 getting cranky, I tried bypassing the lanyard by stripping the wires and trying to direct connect. It would beep but more than two I assume was a defective interface warning.
After messing with it for an hour and a half I finally got anothoer boat to tow us accross the lake to the dock. Basically ending our 3 day boating weekend on the first day.
I know and understand thing go wrong with new vehicles and I am sure it is something simple. But my attitude is very negative at this point because the dealer I bought this boat from has horrible customer service and dealer support. All of which came about of course after I signed the paper work. I wont get into the other problems I have had with this new boat or the dealer on this post. Anyway I hope Sea Doo's warranty service is better than thier dealer customer service.
Any suggestions to the above problem would be greatly appreciated.
thanks
Robert
