I saw this over at jetboating.net.
Quakerstate Injection Oil. So far everyones seems to be having no problems using it with the Rotax engines. And it is only $2.50-$3.50 a quart. Anyone here used it yet?

Took the boat out this afternoon...
08 April 2004 - 09:31 PM
Well, I backed the trailer into a local lake and fired up the engines. At idle, the port side motor had a dribble of water coming out the little squirt hole and the starboard engine didn't at all. I pulled the exit hose off each head and they both had water sputtering out so I think the starboard squirt hole is clogged or something.
First thing I noticed was my reverse didn't work worth @#$%! I pushed the boat off the trailer and began to taxi out of the no wake zone. Steering this thing was very hard at low speed. When I got far enough out I gave 1/2 throttle and the engines hit the rev limiter and boat would barely accelerate. I was scared to let the engines bounce off the limiter like that but I finally just let it rip and once the boat was at about 15mph, it accelerated much more and I beleive I was going about 40mph before i shut down. I am not sure because the gauges fuse blew again.
Also, I noticed the exhaust smoked quite a bit.
Is any of this normal???

What is the MPEM Port Supply? I have a fuse missing for the starboard side.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Premix oil/fuel?
01 April 2004 - 08:20 AM
What do you all think of using oil block off plates and premixing your fuel and oil? I did it to my old 2 cycle motorcycle, and it helped with carb tuning because I didn't have to tune the oil mix.
Is it worth the effort on these boats? Also, I heard that the oil is used for the rotoary valve also. So would you have to keep the oil tank?

Removing Engines
31 March 2004 - 05:36 PM
Well, I thought I would start a seperate thread. That last one was getting lengthy.
Since the engine compartment looks like crap and has an oil slick all over it. I decided that I am going to pull the engines out and clean everything up real good this weekend. I hear Simple Green is a pretty good degreaser. Any suggestions?
Also, I received my owners manual today. I read through it all and learned quite a bit. As for the SeaDoo spray lubricant it mentions, is there a substitute for that? Like WD40 or something cheaper? Also what kind of grease should I use for the impeller shafts?
