In Topic: Ordered A New 2011 Speedster 150 - 255hp

So, how is the new boat? I actually have the 2007 Speedster 150, and I am glad to hear of the new changes for the tower. I have been relatively unpleased with the amount of movement the tower makes, as well as the breakdown of the tower, as I have to take it down every time I store it. My tower actually has a rattle, which seems to come from the rear portside mounting bolt. It seems to be hitting the inside of the tower tubing. Good luck with the new boat. If you ever get down to Lake Martin, please let me know.

thank you very much
i think Solas SR-CD 11/19 is the one for my boat
Please let us know how much of a difference it makes. I would be interested in possibly doing the same thing as i use my Speedster to wakeboard and that hole shot is key when getting up and out of the water.

The manufacturing process for the speedsters is to use rivets to connect the upper half to the hull.
You are correct with the rivets. However, they do not rely on the rivets alone. There is an adhesive between the deck and the hull, which should seal out any water, unless there is a section that does not have adhesive or the adhesive bond has been broken for some reason. You should be able to look inside the engine compartment behind the battery and see the adhesive oozing out a little. Water also comes in whenever I slow down quickly and the water comes over the swim platform. Because I had the same issue with the Sportster I owned for two years, I am not overly concerned, but would like to seal it if at all possible. I will just go buy some Flex Seal and let everyone know how well it works. Thanks for the input.

A question about "underpowered" Will it pull a 200 lb water skier starting with a single ski? Thanks
I am about 190 and wakeboard and it would pull me out okay. I never tried to slalom, but I imagine if you are good at dragging for a little bit, it would pull you up, but hold your breath. I now have a 215sc engine and it will pull you up no problem. I may try a slalom next time I am out there and let you know how that engine does in comparison.

Try the spark plugs. Do one thing at a time and see what fixes the problem. I would start with the plugs and go from there, as the plugs would be the easiest fix.
