Hi everyone -
Well, I hate to admit it, but I'm putting my '97 Speedster up for sale. I know that I'm going to get a bigger boat, but I haven't yet decided between prop and jet. I am definitely going to look at the bigger Sea Doo's before I make a desicion.
Anyway, just wanted to see if anyone here knew of anyone that might be interested. I am in the Austin Texas area.
Also, I'm not sure about how much to ask. The boat is in excellent condition (a single 1/4' scratch on the whole thing). The wear rings were replaced in May, and everything works perfectly on her. Any suggestions? I think I'm going to start by putting it in the paper.
Any advise is appreciated. If anyone you know is interested in the boat, feel free to email me at steveluchak@aggienetwork.com.

Patch for the cover
06 August 2004 - 08:20 AM
Hi everyone -
I managed to put a couple of small holes in the rear starboard side of my cover last weekend (backed it in a little too close to the garage)....
What kind of patching do you suggest that I do? I am not good with a needle, so if something needs to be sewed on, I guess that I will have to take it somewhere... what kind of patch should I get though?
Thanks.

Cavitation and jet pump questions...
09 June 2004 - 03:37 PM
Can someone explain to me how cavitation happens? I know I've seen it on here before, but I can't seem to find it now...
Also, I know most of the physics involved in a jet, but I've got some questions...
How does the ring affect how the impellar works? I mean, it's always sitting in water, so why does the clearance of the ring effect the performance?
Why does a jet lack the torque of a prop?
Why does it take more horsepower to drive a jet than a prop?
Just some things I've been trying to figure out....

Impeller wear ring replacement - how, and how long
03 June 2004 - 01:45 PM
Hi everyone -
I want to replace the wear rings on my '97 speedster...
Wondering if someone can give me a quick run down of how to do it, and what all I would need (I really hate going to the parts house in the middle of a job).
I have a service manual, but I find that real world experiences are much easier to follow.
I read about how Tiggerman did it by using the freezer, and I think that it is a great idea....
What all needs to be done when mounting the pump back to the boat? Gaskets? Where all do you put the RTV silicone sealant? Can I get the RTV at any auto parts store? What kind should I use exactly?
Sorry for all the questions.... I just hate to jump into something like this and realize that I didn't do enough research.

'97 Speedster hesitates on take off
23 February 2004 - 11:34 AM
Hi -
I have a '97 speedster with twin 85hp Rotax engines. When taking off from a stop, the engines hesitate to the point of stalling. You can nurse the throttle through this stage, but you cannot just gun it and take off.
I know that the problem is somewhere in the carbs, but I'm not sure where to start. I don't want to take it in for $300 bucks worth of carb work for an adjustment or something I can do myself.
Anyone have any ideas as to what might be causing this? I'm thinking that it might be as simple as a good cleaning, but I'm not sure how to go about that. I was also told that it might be the idle air adjustment, but again, not sure where that is.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Feel free to email me at steveluchak@aggienetwork.com.
Thanks,
- Steve
