Great site Kevin!
Informative and entertaining!
230 chalenger SE 510hp with power window options, etc, is well over $50k.
Still nothing done about the forward thrust in neutral.

I think it is a sad state of affairs with BRP. We paid over $50,000 in cash for our 2010 Doo, to be told by all, "Get used to the Neutral that is not Neutral".
In Topic: RPM range on 230 Challenger SE 510 HP
07 August 2011 - 05:03 PM
We have a 2010 230 challenger 510hp and the RPM at top speed, 8,000RPM @ 59mph.
Mid range 2,500rpm to 4,500rpm, depending on chop, wind, load, etc, approx 25 to 45 mph.
Optimum cruising is 3,000rpm-3,500rpm for best fuel economy.
If you need more info let me know.

Hey Jake,
We own a 2010 230 challenger 510hp, so heres some actual data for you to ponder:
First of all according to the boat speedo (@ 8,000RPM) top speed 58mph (according to GPS speed 59.7mph) on 91 octane fuel.
Second, at top speed 1.5 mpg (US), or 38.7 gph, or 40 miles/100 Ltrs (at $1.30/Ltr, that's $189/hr!!!!).
Third, at cruising speed of 25mph, 2.9 mpg (US), 8.6 gph, or 77 miles/100 Ltrs (at $1.20/Ltr, that's $42/hr!!).
As I have previously said without complaining, to put it another way, an afternoon of 3 hours tubing/boarding costs about $240!!!!
Yes, we ran it for full tank (50 gal) continuous, until almost empty. No overheating problems.
