In Topic: Still slow acceleration after new wear ring

Yes the little fins do make a diffrence. I was going to only replace the impeller and wear ring (after I tried to make a river drege out of my boat last year) but the mech. said I would still have problems if I did not replace the pump support. It is expenseive but nessasary.First post. Awesome forum. I just bought my 2005 challenger 180. It is slow to accelerate and when I push the throttle to anything more than 50% the RPMs rev way up to 8000. From what I have read on other posts this could be cavitation? I just had the wear ring and impeller replaced by the dealer which helped some but I am still having the same problem? I just checked out the impeller from the intake side and noticed there were several fins on the pump support before the impeller that were damaged and broken off. Could this cause the cavitation? Why wouldnt the dealer fix this in the first place? Any other ideas on what else it could be?
Question to everyone...can you push full throttle when starting from idle and accelerate without issues?
