I have a new '06 Sportster. After one day on the water, the storage area hood(in front of the driver) has a foot long crack in the grey foam between the inner and outer skin.  Has anybody out there seen this?

Same thing exactly on mine... warranty?

Yup same thing on my 04 but it was my engine hood. In 05 notified my dealer and he ordered me a replacemant hood, dealer received new hood during winter of 06 so in the spring when the snow was gone brought boat to dealer for replacement hood. The dealer uncrated replacement hood it looked like it feel out of the back of a truck scratchs divots etc. turned out good for me actually he claimed the hood would not have been covered by warranty and they would have installed it and billed me, he claimed the hood was worth about $ 1500 CDN. So they filled my cracked hood with epoxy or resin and clamped it till it set buffed the edges and looks as good as new. They did this for free, and to this day their has been no further cracking
