The steering on my 1999 Challenger 1800 is beginning to get stiff. Is there a way to lubricate the cable?

My steering wheel turns nice and easy when the boat is on the trailer... but when I get up to speed in the water, the steering is stiff and harder to the right than the left

I'm thinking maybe its because one of my wear rings have seen better days.

However, I was reading through the shop manual and saw that there is a section on lubing the steering cables. Might want to try this.

The serial numbers on my twin Rotax 110hp's are clearly marked on small ID plates on the engines themselves.

Did you look around in the engine bay?

Also, the manual should say exactly where they engine serials are located
