DID I KILL MY ENGINE???
27 May 2010 - 09:15 AM
Hi everyone,
I really need your help!!!
I just got a 2000 seadoo speedster with a Mercury 240hp efi (2 weeks ago)
I was out on the water yesterday( my 4th time ever with this boat) when the rpm started dropping and my then my engine die.
I tried to start it again and it started. i went for about 30 sec and then it kind of sounded like metal was scraping, and cut out.
a few min went by and I checked the oil and it was low. (but no buzzer went off).
when i tried turning it over all i got was a click.
When i think back there was no blue smoke when i started it...
AHHHH:angry:
my first questions.
Is there an auto shut off sensor if the oil runs low?
Why didn't the buzzer go off?
If i top it off with oil will it get to engine before it goes?
what steps should I take to try to save it?
and am I screwed?
please get back to me with anything that will help.
I just looked at the engine again... the side of the block has blown out.
Thanks everyone
