I own a 1999 Sportster 1800 and my engine just revs at about 6k/rpms! We replaced the throttle cable because it was bound up inside the sleeve and now we are having issues adjusting it! We can't figure out how to add length to the end that attaches to the carb. We've made the adjustment at the throttle handles and we've made the adjustment at the carbs but it still doesn't allow the carb to shut completely. The catch is that I had to purchase the longer cable for my model b/c the shorter one is no where to be found (discontinued)! The cable is slightly longer but the connection ends were the same lengths! Right now I'm just looking to download the service manual but it keeps giving me an error when I go to download...
I do have a good bit of knowledge to contribute to this forum and I'm sure there is someone out there that can help me with my issue!
Thanks everyone and cheers!
