We have recorded GPS speeds of just over 61 MPH in a 370 HP Speedster 200. That was in a model with a tower on it, 20 gallons of fuel, and 2 people. You're gonna love it!

DOO you (or any member with similar boat) have any test results (GPS) That you have to report on the 2004 200 310hp boat? My speedometer continues to read about 49-51 mph with about 5 hours on boat.

53 here. The boat goes faster after breaking it in. Go out by yourself on a calm day with a quarter tank of gas. Cruise with the wind and keep the top down. lol

YES.....there is a computer controlled break in period that retards timing and increases fuel flow for the first 5 hours. After that the timing and fuel flow are returned to normal during the next five hours. It is COMPLETELY automatic, the dealer does nothing to alter or improve break-in during or after 10 hours. The RECOMMENDED 10 hour service is NOT mandatory to maintain warranty nor will it help or hurt the eventual performance of the engine.

I just took delivery of my 2004 Speedster 200 this weekend and am quite pleased with the performance. I am interested to learn more about this 5 hr break in period. My dealer could not tell me what difference I will see.
I am running approx 7300 rpm and speedo showing max. 50 MPH on short hold(break in ).
Can you offer any more details on what I might see after the 5 HR chip expires on the 04 Speedster 310HP .

You are absolutely correct! That has been said time after time. The dealer has to want to follow through from the time of purchase until you decide to buy another vehicle from them. Well put....

I have found that my loyalty to my dealer over the years is what pays off. The consumer that moves around year after year to save a couple hundred bucks on a total trade/purchase deal will not get the payback that the loyality will.

That initial savings can easly be discounted with the first NO, I'M SORRY, THAT IS NOT COVERED... READ YOUR EXCEPTIONS response from the dealer

Well guys, I hope they're throwing it in for nothing 'cause that's what it's worth!

When I bought my used Speedster, I paid almost $100 to transfer the 5 year extended warranty...just try to collect! When a tine broke on the hydrosurge grate..."that's not covered"; and because that's not covered, any ancillary damage that it might have caused (like the impeller) would, therefore, also not be covered.

In other words, any damage caused by the failure of an uncovered part is also not covered even if it subsequently damages a covered part!

Your right, they doo thow it in for nothing (so they say ) - Yet it seems to work for alot of consumers. I'm sure I'm not the only sucker to run to sign up.

At the end of the day, I figure it gives me some piece of mind for additional coverage for major malfunction in motor ( and in my case TWO MOTORS!)
