I am not new to the Sea Doo world. I own two 1996 XP's since they were new. They have been great and trouble free. Two seasons ago I started having acceleration problems with one, and this year the second one developed the same problem. I took it to an independant dealer, who suggested a carb rebuild. I agreed and paid $340 dollars to rebuild one. Put it into the water, and still have the same problem. Both units start right up and idle perfect. But when you give any gas, it boggs down and bearly runs. I have found if I hold the throutle down all the way for about 15 minutes, it clears out and runs great until I turn it off. Then the same problem occurs. I have been using a defogging spray before storage. Someone suggested running WD40 through the fuel intake line until engine kills and then store. It would seem that if the problem was carb build up, the rebuild would have taken care of it. I am lost. Any suggestions????
