Well...in the watercraft there have been a few go like this due to floated valves which is caused by hitting the rev limiter too often. I would say the water in the bilge is a problem...how much water did you have in there when the motor blew? Ingesting water can cause issues like bent rods due to hydrolock. I have found the Supercharged motors to be just as reliable as the Naturally Aspirated and wouldn't give up the hp and performance for nothing
Your dealer should be able to determine what caused this catastrophic failure and I'm confident it has nothing to with the fact that it is supercharged. Your carbon seal might have been causing the water in the bilge, was it cavitating lots and causing poor low-end performance?
Keep us posted on what the dealer finds to be the cause.

Definitley the sportster SCIC...that thing is a blast and has all the latest tech and mucho horsepower.Hey guys, my first post. I'm looking at buiying a Sportster SCIC 215hp's or a 2000-2004 Speedster 16ft with the 240 merc.
First to be used on a fresh water lake about 10miles long.
-witch is faster, power to weight ratio seems beter on the Sportster?
-witch does better donuts or 360?
-witch is better at submorining?
-with is better on Gas?
Since the sportster smaller is it funner? I'm looking for something and fun as a 2 seat watercraft!

This is the nature of the beast guys...you're going to suck debris up into the pump once in a while. Just be careful in shallow water (2ft or less) and avoid weeds/debris and you'll be fine. You'd notice a huge performance loss with mesh on your intake so you'll have to rely on your current ICS grate. I've been fortunate, only once have I sucked anything up that caused cavitation and it cleared itself after a short burst of the throttle. May as well get the bad luck out of the way.. now she'll be clear sailing for you!

That is bang on Mine idles at the same RPM. All 4tecs idle approximately 1800 -2000 rpm. Enjoy that little rocket !

I opted for Polk Audio MOMO marine speakers...sound simply awesome and very smooth highs. The 6.5" speakers have an adjustable tweeter so you can direct it in whatever direction sounds best. I also installed 2 10" Polk subs so my oldest son and his buddies can impress the girlz
