Anybody know where I can find the Depth Gauge Operating Instructions for the gauge in my 2008 Challenger 230 SE? I've been searching, but can't seem to find them anywhere.
All help is appreciated. Thanks, Dave
Thanks for the update Dave. Looking forward to hearing what you find out.
Well Kevin, BRP customer service and I talked about it and the horrible service I received from the previous dealer. I talked with a very understanding fellow. He suggested I go to another dealer , which I did, Duchess Recreational Vehicles.
I got a call from them the other day and they said that BRP Technical had given the OK to rebuild both Super Chargers, not wanting to take a chance on the second one also going bad.
Finally, I am starting to feel better about this boat and BRP. I will have to live with trailering the boat 1hour and 20 minutes to get there and the same to get home. Then, of course, do it again to retrieve the boat. I am fine with that as long as I get some good service for a change.
More after I pick it up and find out what the cost is for things at this dealer.
Looks like I'm having the a problem with my 2008 Challenger 230 SE 430hp with about 50 hours on it.
One engine only revs to 6500 while the other is at 8000. I took off the hoses on the Super Chargers and one of the blades spins by hand and the other doesn't.
Is that what happens when the washers go or is there another problem? My "dealer" has changed my oil twice and I mentioned that it could not be synthetic. He said that it was ok now and used a "blend" , whatever that is.
I've put about 4 hours on it since I noticed a difference in the operation. Only once did I open the throttle all the way to see what would happen. Hope that didn't cause more problems.
I had my dealer fix the forward creep under warranty after I bought the boat. And, yes there is an adjustment you can make. The mechanic showed me the adjuster that will lower/raise the gate. Take out the pin and turn it a bit. Insert the pin and check it out. Readjust until there is no creep in either direction. I believe there is probably some measurement/method that can be done on the gate to get it close to begin with, but I haven't seen that yet.
By the way, my dealer didn't get it perfect either.
I would like to learn more about the neutral lock on the newer boats. I figured it would just clamp/lock the steering wheel in the straight ahead position so the boat didn't just spin in circles. That is always fun when hanging or removing fenders. Does it work some other way?
6/11/2012 I finally got to work on the adjustment and take some pics.
I'll post them as soon as I can eat dinner and figure out how to post pics.
I rotated mine 2 turns to the right/clockwise. I'll have to see how that works when I get it in the water. That may be a week or two.
Here are some pics -- I hope.
First one is of the whole assembly
I turned mine clockwise thinking it would move it in and thereby push the rod out which would move the diverters lower. Hopefully, that would lessen the forward push.
I'll let you know how it worked out.
Well, the 2 full turns of the adjustment worked perfectly. I start both engines and sit exactly where I am with the engines running. I was amazed I hit it perfectly.
It works as I stated.
Good luck/adjustments to all.
