Unable to get repair service
22 July 2009 - 07:02 PM
Recently i attempted to have a miner repair completed on my 1997 Speedster. This boat has never malfunctioned once ,since i purchassed it new in 1997.It is a fantastically crafted product. After contacting every Sea Doo boat dealer on Long Island N.Y. to schedual a service date, all of them refused to service the boat. They all stated that they do not service boats this old. One service man even stated that the cut off date was for 2001 boats . They did not even ask me what the problem was. [ a simple throttle replacment which i will have to attempt to do myself ].The reason that they do not want to service my boat is because it is their moronic reasoning that only newer owners deserve to be serviced ,and i can not even be put on a waiting list. What kind of logic is this ? .What company deserves to stay in business with this stupid policy, or whatever you want to call it . Who would even buy a product that can not be repaired after only eight years. It is a shame that a boat of this quality has to be represented by people with the reasoning of idiots. I would have really liked to buy a Seadoo boat in the future but i do not think i will now . I would like to to inform other possible future buyers of this ridiculous practice. I would like to know if owners in other areas have had an experience such as this. I would appreaciate your responce .Thanks
