Have you tried changing the plugs?I just bought a 95 speedster last week, and I took it out yesterday. It started out running good, but after a few minutes the right engine began to cut out. it would run up to 7000 rpm's or so and then go back down to about 4000. It acts like its not getting enough gas or something. Any advice would help, thanx!

I've found that if you increase the rpms and then put the boat in neutral and shut the engines down, the weeds usually get washed out. You might also try putting the engines in reverse and revving them a bit to see if that washes them out.Really, Funny the dealer didn't suggest that. I'll look into it.You could always install a grate with wider opening between the tines that would make it easier to clean out.
Thanks.
I have a '96 Speedster and these work for me when the weeds get stuck. My neighbor has a '97 Speedster and his is equipped with "claws" that have a pull handle under his ignition switch. The claws literally clean out the weeds from the grates under the hull. Not sure if you can buy this device as an aftermarket item or not but it works better than my "wash out" manuevers.

Thanks much. I'll doo the search and see where that leads me.There have been posts in the past about hoists, but I don't remember when. Search for them, and look around at the various websites for used equipment. Boat Trader online may be a good source for used stuff, as well as eBay.Hey anyone out there have any suggestions for where I can find a suitable used (if possible) hoist for my '96 Speedster? It's 14.5' long but I'm not sure of weight...Also, what do they run new? I have it on my canal right now so I'm a little limited in space to put it. That's also why I don't want a full size hoist...would make my jet doo seem puny. Any suggestions are much appreciated.
Check out Overtons or West Marine for new.
BTW, my 97 Speedster weighs 1380 lbs dry. Yours should be close.
