Have just replaced the wear rings on my boat, the pumps came off , no problem, but after removing them I noticed one of the drive shaft protectors is sort of broken. Can someone give me some advice on how to remove it ? I have tried pulling it (from the pump end) but no joy.

I'm assuming I can buy the part from my local dealer but just need some advice on removing the broken one. Should I be removing the driveshaft first ? This doesn't seem to want to budge either, I seem to remember last time I had the pumps off one of the driveshafts came out with the pump, not this time though, they seem in there solid..
