hey,Hello Kevin Leclair Thanks for message.
I have a real problem with my boat.
I have a seadoo challenger 97 (rotax 800 110hp) that starts ok runs ok, but when you reach high rpms after 3 to 4 minutes the engine stops.
You can restart the boat just after the failure but you will not be able to reach high rpm´s.
You can reach high rpm´s for aditional 3 to 4 minutes only if you wait 2 hours before restarting the boat.
The technician says that this could be the Mpem.
This look strange to me, as an electronic failure of the mpem normaly does not match this curious timing of 3 to 4 minutes of run then 2 hours wait before the engine can restart.
According to what I have read the Mpem failure is divide in two main scenarios:
-The fried Mpem. (Nothing works, boat is not starting not beeping etc...)
-The Mpem that needs resoldering. (in this case the mpem works ok, but gives problem when heat or vibration cause a false contact between the electronic components of the Mpem)
In those two scenarios nothing seems to macth with my 3 to 4 minutes run at high speed and the stop for 2 hours.
Please help me as I have no idea of how to get a good diagnose on this boat.
i have that same problem when i get to 5000 rpm the prower just drops down and sometimes it dies and this happens around 10 minuets of running time, what do you think of the probable cause of this problem? i would really appriciate if you could help me out cuz i've spent on rebuilding the carburators and then trying to change ignition coils ive heard there's a problem with the oil supply but i have'nt tested it yet. pls. giv eme a feedback for any cause of this same problem, thanks
