Both of your concerns are normal. You have the helm, cables, and controls on the drivers side. I also know that jet boats always turn better one way than they do another. It's due to the water entering the pump and getting spun in a certain direction. Is it normal in the 2000 year model Challenger 1800 with the 210 Merc Marine Jet Drive M2 to have such effective turning performance when cornering to the Left but be so much less inclined to aggressively corner to the Right?
I also feel like a guy my size 220lbs tends to really through this little 17.5 ft boat listing to far over on when in the driver’s seat. However, when I'm in the passenger seat with my buck 15 girlfriend driving the boat sits perfectly evenly.
Went ahead and replaced the oversized after market Marine Battery that sits behind the Driver with a 30lbs lighter Optima hoping that would help. And all heavy storage is kept on the left side of the boat, but still no impact.

Well I dont know about he bogs out part, but taching out and going no where sounds like a wear ring or impellor problem.I have a 2001 Challenger 2000 jetboat with a merc 240. At idle and up until about half power, everything seems fine. At half throttle, the engine bogs out, then tachs out, and the boat goes no where. Has this happened to anyone?
Thanks

Is pulling three people safe? Speed is a little subjective in the jet boat dept. 55 mph might be just a touch high. I have a 1800 with twin Rotax 787's, Nujet impellors and longer nose cones. On my Garmin I have squeeked out 55 twice for over a mile. 55.4 I beleave. I can jerk two adults out of the water on a big bertha like it wasnt there. Never tried three tubes before though. The factory ski pylon may not work for three people as it pitches the nose of my boat up so bad with two people though.Hi I just bought a 2000 Challenger 2000 w/ the 240hp Merc. I've owned PWC's before and outboard boats but never a jet boat. I was wondering how the pulling power is on this jetboat. We do a lot of tubing with multiple tubes. Does this boat have enough pulling power to pull 3 tubes with adults ? How strong are the ski poles ?
Also what is everyone's top end speed on theirs ? I am hoping for 55mph with one person on flat water.
Can't wait for the ice to melt up here in Alberta !

ps please note my avatar is a Speedster. I bought one of those as well
