[COLOR=purple]Just purchased a 2001 challenger 2000, merc m2 240efi (first boat ever, love it). changed the plugs, fuel filters, replaced the hdro surge grate with a fixed aluminum one, lowerered the trim plate and had the oil changed. (All suggested per this and other Seadoo forums)

,We just purchased a 2001 Challenger 2000 also. We love it!! Never owned a power boat before so we are on a steep learning curve. Thanks for your timely question. We find that we need to change our fuel filter and were struggling because it apparently is not the normal Mercury fuel filter. Does anyone know why there is a wire on the bottom of the fuel filter (this was unexpected)?
