The purpose of the fan is to remove gas fumes from the engine compartment. You should run it for 5 minutes, turn off and then start the engines. Failure to do so runs the risk of an explosion.
Not enough room on portside for 31 size batt, but room for the engine batt so I moved the comp on the portside up onto the ledge just like the comp on starboard side. Then put the starting battery on that side. This left the starboard side open and it was large enough for the size 31 deep cycle battery.
