I have a 1998 Seadoo Sportster 1800 (twin Rotax 720's) - trying to get it water ready!
Noticed with the shift lever in neutral (boat off, not running) that the left side throttle lever - more so than the right side, doesn't seem to have a lot of friction to keep the lever in position, in otherwords, if at 1/4 throttle the lever almost falls back to idle - it doesn't stay in position. Is this because its not running? If not, what is the fix?
Also, for the air filter/flame arrestor (2nd & 4th photo) I'm assuming I just peel off the rubber gasket and that filter will come out so I can clean it? What is the best way to clean it?
Also, I noticed my left side choke cable (1st photo) is broke where it mounts to the bracket right down by the engine, it still functions for now as the cable isn't broke - but the threaded rod is broke so there is not any threads left for a nut to grab onto. Is there a way to rig it up to not rattle around? If not, where is the best place to find a replacement? (saw nothing on e-bay).
Lastly, in the attached (3rd photo) I took a picture of where I routed the speedometer cable from the left side - is that how they did it from the factory - the wire will flop around a bit as there is nothing to zip tie it to or otherwise from what I could tell. Just don't want any issues with how its routed.
