2005 Hydro-Turf Freeride Championships

IFWA World Tour USA Round
Oceanside, California October 1-2, 2005

General Information

The 2005 Hydro-Turf Freeride Championships features the world's best
Freeride Watercraft athletes competing for a cash purse and IFWA World Tour Points. The event takes place over two days to ensure the best possible surf conditions.

Athletes will compete in Sit Down and Stand Up classes and are judged
equally between wave jumping and wave surfing skills by a panel of 5 judges.

Competition: The event is open to both professional and amateur
competitors in the 1st round with the top qualifiers advancing. The 2nd and 3rd rounds consist of the top qualifiers and those pilots holding current
World Tour points. Competitors will battle for a cash purse and points
towards the title of IFWA World Champion. The normal requirement to declare professional status will be waived to all competitors except those who receive 1st 2nd or 3rd place in the final results.

Schedule:
Friday September 30th
9am-4pm Rider Registration on-site
11am-4pm Supervised practice sessions for all competitors
All competitors must register before practicing.
7:00pm Rider's meeting -location to be announced

Saturday October 1st
8:00am Rider's Meeting on site
8:30am - 9:00am Warm Up (Practice)
9:00am - 10:15am Qualifying Round One Stand Up ( Group A )
10:15am - 10:30am Break
10:30am -12:00pm Qualifying Round One Stand Up ( Group B )
12:15pm-1: 15pm Qualifying Round One Sit Down
1:15pm -2:30pm Lunch Break
3:00pm- 4:00pm Possible Round Two Sit Down
(If excellent wave conditions exist)

Sunday October 2nd
8:00am Rider's meeting on site
8:30am-9am Warm Up (Practice Stand Up)
9:00am - 11:00am Round Two Stand Up
World Tour Points and top qualifiers from Round 1
11:00am-11: 30am Warm Up (Practice Sit Down)
11:30am - 12:30pm Round Two or Three Sit Down
12:30pm- 1:30pm Lunch Break
2:00pm - 4:00pm Round Three Stand Up
4:00pm - 5:00pm Round Three Sit Down (if needed)

Awards immediately following last round

Registration

Fees:There is no entry fee for the event but all riders must
be current members of the IFWA (International Freeride Watercraft Association). You may join the IFWA online at ifwa.com.br or onsite at the event. The cost of the yearly IFWA membership is $50 US.

Registration is limited in the 1st qualification round. All riders must
pre-register by September 10, 2005. After September 10th, interested riders will be put on the waiting list.
