My fuel gauge mysteriously stopping working today. It was working ok until I had to replace a faulty speedometer. I have checked all connections and cleaned all the fuses. Everything else is working ok. I am thinking it may have be a faulty sensor. I have read about changing them out, but am wondering where it is and how I access it. I am open to anything so I don't need to spend another $130 on a fuel gauge. I just spent $150 on a speedometer.
Thank you.
Mike
I believe the sending units run about $130 so you are stuck. There is a way to replace the sender's internal fuse but if you aren't sure how to access the sender, you likely aren't up for trying repair the sender.

Hello Everyone!
I need some help! I bought a 2001 Seadoo Islandia and its missing the port side gas cylinder for the rear deck. Rather than spend the big bucks on a seadoo part they are availabe for 1/3 the price from the OEM manufacturer. The problem is the port and starboard are two different cylinders. I have the oem part number of the starboard cylinder. They have an OEM label on them.
Can someone look at their port side (left hand side) cylinder and get me the part number off the sticker? It should read something like SBH-GS-8071-80# (Starboard side)
Thanks in advance!
Are you talking about the engine cover strut?
According to the BRP parts site, the port side strut is 204071085. I'll be out at my boat this weekend if you haven't found the info you need yet.

the wire is for the water separator warning alarm; should you forget to change your filter on time.Hey ,
We just purchased a 2001 Challenger 2000 also. We love it!! Never owned a power boat before so we are on a steep learning curve. Thanks for your timely question. We find that we need to change our fuel filter and were struggling because it apparently is not the normal Mercury fuel filter. Does anyone know why there is a wire on the bottom of the fuel filter (this was unexpected)?
