Never mind on these guys. What a bunch of idiots they turned out to be. So I placed an order with them for a steering wheel cover for my 06 Sporster (just the plastic cover that I lost out on the lake). Gave them the part number, sure enough they took my money and the order. I even went back to check once after a couple of weeks and they assured me it was just taking it's time and it was all in order.

So I go back today and the guy says he'll check into it and call me ... calls me back about 15 minutes after I leave the store and says they are not even able to order this part because it's a "jet boat" part You would think that is something that would have come up during the month and a half I was waiting for them to get me the part. Strangely enough, they do show up on the sea doo site as a dealer .. but I guess they only do seadoo jet skis and not boats.

Anyway ... stay away from them. They are morons.

As far as mp3 players .. I just swapped my clarion to a pyle mp3/cd/radio with the weather band. It also has a wired remote that I mounted on the right side of the steering wheel. I'll post pictures soon but I love the setup. Much better than the crappy clarion that the boat comes with stock.

You know ... I've thought about this for a while too ...

I would first probably install some sort of screen in the hose before the tank to prevent siphoning. But so far, I haven't found anything good that will easily get this job done.

I would then install another container in the engine bay (you can just put it there as it will only be there when the boat is stored and taken out when the boat is in use) ... connect the hose from the filler tube to it (capping the stock gas tank at the tank while the boat is parked). I would fill the container with a mixture of gas and a lot of sugar. Let them siphon it all they want

To use the boat, all you'd have to do is to remove that fake tank with the sugar-gas. The only problem with this is to refuel the actual gas tank, you'd have to keep reconnecting the filler tube. But I think it would be worth doing this to get those bastard thieves ... ah the satisfaction!

As long as the sides are snug, I wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure those bolts are in good shape and check the torque on them after a while to make sure they are not coming loose. Otherwise, with the trailer weight you will be pulling, you'll be fine.

I got curious because yesterday the plastic steering wheel cover went flying on my sportster and I never found it (by the time I realized it, it was long gone in heavy chop!). I eneded up actually finding it on a website of a local dealer ... but instead of ordering online and paying for shipping, I just went in to their parts counter (they are literally down the block from me). Cost me only $13 so I am happy. They had to special order it so it will take a few days.

You can just type in a sea doo part number. Most of what I tried came right up. Other than the order I have placed with them today, I have no experience with them but they seem like a great shop.
