I just bought a 97 Challenger. I used it the first day it ran fantastic. I was very happy. Day 2 it started nice and zipped to the end of the lake. In a tight turn, I lost power and it has never recovered.,
I did add 5 gallons of gas with gas from the Garage... now believed perhaps old... not sure how old, and also topped off the oil tank with 2 pennsoil 2 cycle prior
I was told that I likely sucked up something into the impeller...
I remove the rear end to review the impeller looks clean and great no nicks or bends. It do think I has excessive clearance, but thinking that would allow me to run at top rpm with no speed..
Hooked up the garden hose and ran it at 7000 rpm no problem on the trailer
I filled the rest of the tank of gas with fresh gas and added 2 cans of sea foam.....
starts fairly good with throttle in middle position... will not start fully retracted will often stall when retracted all the way back... wondering if a linkage adjustment slipped????
replaced fuel filter... had some little black debris trapped in it but not plugged. wondering if carb is plugged??
Suggested a compression problem... thinking not likely an instant problem...... easy to check getting a gauge anyway....
Looking for some advice? what's next to check
