I have a 2005 Sportster LE DI 2-stroke and had problems with the boat running fine for a while, but then going into limp home mode. I could let it idle for awhile or switch it off and restart it; it would run fine for a while longer, but then go back into limp mode. I just got it back from the dealer (I really appreciate the extended warranty!). The problem appears to have been primarily an overly sensitive knock sensor (our gas is up to 10% ethanol), which was replaced with a less sensitive sensor, but a computer (control module) was also replaced. The dealer water tested the boat and experienced no problems. It is still relatively cold here in Virginia, but I can't wait to take it out to see how it performs. We'll see what happens . . .I have a friend of a friend.. who needs some help with a 2005 Seadoo Sportster LE DI , 2 stroke.. I may sound like I know a little.. I know nothing.. but I know what it is and is not doing and I need to see if there is anyone out there who might know what the problem may be....So here it goes the thing has been serviced through and through and it was running good for about an hour or so.. It has been sitting and has like 8 miles on it.. It was just bought and the rev limiter seemed to be stuck on it... Or something.. it is stuck in what you would call limp mode... It started running great this morning for about an hour and than it made a pop noise and is back to running in limp mode again...?? If any one knows what it might be I would greatly appreciate it.. Thanks ...
