I just picked up my Speedster 200, and everything worked fine at the dealership, (the normal 2 beeps when the DESS cap is put on) but when we got it home, and put the DESS cap on the post, I got 3 long beeps and then 4 short beeps. The 4 short beeps kept repeating. The shifter was in neutral, and the engines would still start.
I don't see this code in the troubleshooting guide in my manual, so I wondered if somebody could tell me what it means.

I have noticed this also on my Speedster 200. I assume that the 2 x 2 short beeps are the OK to start the engines, although on our last boat, 1997 Challenger 1800 w/twin 110, it would just beep twice for both engines. I have no idea what the long beeps are for, but they sure are loud and annoying. I will ask my dealer when I take it in for the 10 hr. check.

Does anyone know what the correct gap for the spark plugs are?

According to my 2006 operators's guide for a Speedster 200, the gap is .75mm or .030 inch.

Where do you live and where are you getting your speedster from.  I am around Charlotte, NC, and got mine from Lake Norman Powersports.

Thanks for the info on the radio- I think I will wait on getting a different one, it sounds like the Clarion will have enough power for my needs.

I live in southeastern WI on a small 240 acre lake. I bought the Speedster from CedarCreek Motorsports in Cedarburg, WI. I had previously bought a 1997 Challenger 1800 from them new, which I traded in, and also have a 02 Sea Doo RX DI pwc that I bought from them.

I'm hoping that the Speedster will be a little better for watersking than the Challenger 1800 was- it should be with 800 more lbs and all the additional power.
My wife felt a little uncomfortable driving with me pulling the back end all around during a slalom run.

Have you had any problems with your speedometer? I have read that a lot of people have- mine always read high on my Challenger.
