I have a 1997 Challenger single engine and the rubber seal where the exhaust exits the back of the boat has failed.
Does anyone know of a place to source these?
Thanks, Jim Smith

97 Challenger 1800 twin engine oil in cylinder
11 October 2012 - 09:14 PM
I am working on a 97 Challenger 1800. The issue is that one of the engines seems to be getting oil into the cylinderrs after it has been sitting for a while. If you take out the spark plugs and turn it over, the oil will spray out the spark plug hole. it will then start and be fine.
Is there some way that the injection oil from the reservoir is siphoning in? Oil pump leak? leaking counter balance seal?
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

installing depth finder

Can any one explain or post pictures on where to install the transponder on my depth finder. I have a 1997 challenge. They say to put them at the front of the motor somwhere, but i don't see a spot suitable on mine. Is the in hull work good enough compared to the thru hull mount? I don't want to put it on the back of the boat outside as I would like to kno water depth a bit before i run a ground!!
Thanks for any input.
regards, Jim

counter balance shaft oil refil
16 October 2011 - 03:00 PM
Does anyone know how to check, change and refill the counterbalance shaft oil.
I am new to the jet boat thing and have 1997 Challenger with a 787 rotax.
I have read thet the oil eventually leaks out of that shaft area and may cause a problem.
Any input for modifications to fix this would be great!
thanks, Jim Smith
