I did not see any Islandia owners interested in writing a review. I will review my 2006 Islandia (twin 155 Rotax). I'll be on vacation next week and should have some idle time to get started. Is there a deadline for the reviews to be submitted?

Thanks for letting me know. Yeah both the manual and the shop manual just say to lubricate, but don't have any specifics. I pulled the boat out of the water and put the recommended SeaDoo lubricant on the cable areas on both the gate cable and steering cable and it is back to about that effort that it was before. The lubricant is pretty thick and water resistant and I think I can lean over the swim platform and smear it around the cables periodically. Like I said the mechanic at my marina said the ONLY thing that can be done is to replace the cable so this is better than incurring that cost since the lube helps. Happy boating !!

I was able to obtain the manual for the depth sounder that comes with the Islandia SE. It is attached here.

Thanks TITW. I did find something in the manual but it was not very detailed. I assume that the lubrication should take place by the drives and likely by the control itself. Would you mind summarizing what your manual suggests?

We bought a 2006 Islandia last year (only 15 hours on the motors) :-) It is a great family boat - I was originally looking for a Challenger 180 or a more typical open bow, but the Islandia offers more seating (up to 12 - more like 10 comfortably) , the sink, porta-potty/changing room, bigger sun lounge, cooler storage, shower, etc. I would say to look for a 2006 or newer because the 2005 and older had the single engine mercruiser (from what I have observed). It is extremely functional - it is great for just anchoring and relaxing with all the amnenities it has. look for an SE which has the tow pylon, stereo remote and carpeting. There are dealers that have them - look on ebay - I got lucky and found mine just 2 hour drive away. Almost bought one from dealer in Fla (Marine Connection) and was going to have it shipped - sometimes they have one but I don't see any on their site right now. BTW - mine was really clean and only 15 hours and I paid 25K with trailer - I bought mine from smith marine in PA. Let me know if you have pursued your purchase.
