I had the oil light and alarm come on indicating low oil level. Inspected the engine and there was oil all over the place. Turns out it was the O- ring on the oil filter cover. The oil, filter and O-ring were replaced we hooked up the garden hose and ran the engine and the O-ring failed again. The Tech then did some reshearch and found there is an up grade to the oil filter cover which has two O-rings in it. This solved the problem.
The dealership had never seen this problem but were aware of it.
I would sugest to anyone that they should install the upgraded filter cove before this happens to you. $37. Easy to do yourself.

Thats funny. The did not have a new cover in stock so we took one from a 2005 4 -tech engine. I check the oil daily and believe this was not a slow leak but happened over a short period. Fortunatley I was close to home.thats interesting the 2005 model only has one o ring.
i will keep an eye on that for sure.
