thumper , jtw, i am a master auto mechanic. the gage systems work the same however. most tntermittant gauge problems are caused by bad connections . make sure all terminals/connectors are clean and tight . wiggle wiring while looking for guage flucuations. remember on boats and fiberglass body cars there must be a return (ground) circuit which can cause problems.hope i have been some help.THE FUEL GAUGE ON MY '95 SPEEDSTER SEEMS TO HAVE A MIND OF IT'S OWN. IT WORKED FOR A WHILE BUT ALWAYS READ WRONG THEN IT QUIT ALL TOGETHER. I FIGURED IT WAS THE BAFFLE (SENDING UNIT) SO I REPLACED IT...THATS $130.00 WASTED, IT STILL COMES AND GOES RARELY READING CORRECTLY WHEN IT IS WORKING.
ANY ONE HAVE THAT PROBLEM BEFORE OR HAVE ANY SUGGESTIONS??
THANKS.

My S200 is the same way. The gage reads full until I get down about 15 gallons (from 40) then drops quickly from there. At 3/4 on the gage I put 25 gallons in last time. It's close enough to let me know when to fill up, but it seems like they (seadoo) could do much better with a little engineering (very little!). I have been thinking about designing an in-expensive circuit to add a transform function to the voltage from the sensor to correct for the error as the tank empties, but I have not done any research yet. It's a minor inconvenience to me since I am usually within few miles of a gas-dock.mines brand new and reads full unitl about half and then it drops like a stone so i just keep the tank topped up all the time.

the JCWHITNEY catalog sells a simple 1 wire universal gage . I have used them on friends airboats and so far so good. Its in magazines with hot rod ,car mags.I APPRECIATE THE REPLIES, MY PROBLEM IS NOT SO MUCH THAT IT DOESN'T ALWAYS READ CORRECTLY,THOUGH ANNOYING, I COULD DEAL WITH THAT. THATS A TYPICAL BOAT, I'VE HAD A CROWNLINE, AND CURRENTLY A BAJA WITH THE SAME PROBLEM. I JUST WISH IT WOULD AT LEAST READ SOMETHING TO GIVE ME AN IDEA INSTEAD OF JUST NOT COMEING ON AT ALL. I HAVE CHECKED ALL OF THE CONNECTIONS AND TRIED TO TRACE THE WIRES AS BEST AS I COULD AND WAS UN ABLE TO FIND ANY PROBLEMS.
THANKS AGAIN FOR THE REPLIES.
