I've now noticed after only a few days that this boat just doesn't like to be started reliably.
The symptom is put the DESS key on the post, get two beeps, push or hold the starter button and "nothing" happens. No noise etc.
Simply pull the DESS key off and put it back on again, push the starter button and voila! It starts.
My 2003 4Tec Seadoo had a main disconnect relay that was only energized once the DESS key was installed (hence why Seadoo's no longer have Clocks.... no battery power to keep em running). However, it ALWAYS worked.
Just curious if anyone has found that the relay on the SCIC is sticky or fincky etc.
Note: I have no problem starting the boat when that relay works so it's not a question of holding the switch longer... they switch is "dead" is the issue.
Once we can finally buy the shop manual (doesn't show as available yet in the dealer listings) I'll start tearing the electrical apart (visually mind you) and see what is different from my 2003 4Tec. I would imagine very little besides that huge battery disconnect switch.
