I used to own a 4-Tec. I'm pretty sure the seats are riveted in place and should not be removed. The mirror shown on the web site is not available. Sorry.Well I did it, I bought the SCIC and I am not sorry I did, what a handfull of speed. a couple of questions, can you take the saets out to clean under them, and on the photos of the 4tec they show a mirror but they don't have one on the SCIC, whats the deal ?

You can remove the seats, but you might have to replace the little plastic things they are mounted with. When I had my Sportster 4-tec, I had to put one back in that was not installed correctly (center seat after a fuel system recall). The seats are mounted with those ribbed plastic inserts that only like to go one way, but they will come out with enough force. I was able to get my center seat back in without issues.Well I did it, I bought the SCIC and I am not sorry I did, what a handfull of speed. a couple of questions, can you take the saets out to clean under them, and on the photos of the 4tec they show a mirror but they don't have one on the SCIC, whats the deal ?

Those plastic thingys are rivets that are not meant to be taken out. The man ask could you take the seats out for cleaning. I don't think you are supposed to remove the seats. jmhoYou can remove the seats, but you might have to replace the little plastic things they are mounted with. No, they were not rivets (at least not rivets that I have seen). They were plastic devices designed to be inserted one way (like those used in cars). They can be pulled out and re-inserted with some force without breaking them. I agree that removing them for cleaning would not be a great idea since you do run a risk of breaking the plastic pieces. They screw into the base of the seat and I am sure you could get a great deal on replacements from your dealer (not). Those plastic thingys are rivets that are not meant to be taken out.
