PWC riding on a rough day on the San Francisco Bay. You can see Team Oracle's sail AC72 sailboat just before it capsized. We headed in to port after about 2-3 hrs. and their sail boat flipped over in the wind and was destroyed. Lots of fun riding the rollers 3nm offshore from the Golden Gate near the Point Bonita lighthouse. 10-15 ft. seas at times, along with thick marine layer blowing inland and large container ships crossing. Don't try this without a VHF marine radio, flares, full wet-suit, and a second vessel of course. Must be self sufficient riding on the ocean and have a buddy with a long long tow rope to pull you back in if you have any mechanical failure. Otherwise the strong current will pull you out to sea at 5-10mph as what happened to Team Oracle's boat. We were riding a Honda R12X and F12X. These jet skis are ideal for this type of riding as they have a much further range and reliability then the SeaDoo and Yamaha models. 130 mile range in our experience and we've yet to have a break-down in 4 years. | From:Donner Lake Views:29 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() 0ratings | |
